Maharishi Charak Jayanti was celebrated by Future University's FIAMS institute on 18th August 2026. The occasion started at 9 am with a 'Charak Samhita Parayan' ceremony, wherein Dr. Vishwanath Kakde guided students and vaidyas in chanting select chapters of Sutrasthana.
Following this, the main function commenced, where in the presence of Chancellor Mr. Mukesh Gupta, Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Rajendra Sinha, Principal Prof. (Dr.) B. K. Singh, and Head of Department Prof. (Dr.) D. K. Dwivedi, the lamp was lit before statues of Maharishi Charak and Lord Dhanvantari, followed by 'Dhanvantari Stavan' performance by students of BAMS 2024 batch.
Chancellor Gupta in his speech highlighted Ayurveda as a sustainable source of wellness for humans and asked students to blend ancient wisdom with modern-day research. Vice-Chancellor Sinha described the importance of Charak Samhita beyond the scope of medicines. Principal Singh discussed the successes of the institute, whereas Prof. Dwivedi elaborated on the practical significance of Charak Samhita even today.
The celebration also witnessed a poster-making and rangoli competition for students, whose winners were felicitated in the concluding ceremony.
The event was wrapped up by singing the national song “Vande Mataram” and a vote of thanks. Dr. Akshay Varshney and Dr. Ajay Kumar have made some valuable contributions towards the organisation of the program.
